Mounts
Mounts are similar to pets – they can be summoned and dismissed at will, and they are equipped and might even grant stat bonuses like other items. When summoned, however, mounts allow your character to move faster, and they may offer other bonuses while equipped or summoned.
Summoning and Riding a Mount
Press the J key to summon your equipped mount, and again to dismiss it. You can’t summon mounts in dungeons.
You can move about as normal when riding a mount, but you can't attack or use skills. You can still be attacked, however.
Mounts have the Auto Move ability, which makes your mount automatically move to any reachable location on your current map, when you click on it on the Map screen.
You can summon mounts during combat, but you are still vulnerable to harm when riding. In addition, you will lose any increases to maximum HP or MP that your gear grants you while mounted, so it's not a foolproof escape plan.
Your First Mount
You can obtain mounts in many places, but they are usually rare, expensive, or otherwise difficult to obtain. The easiest way to obtain your first mount is to talk to Sergio the Stable Keeper, who operates his business just outside of Ardeca’s northern wall. Sergio will sell you a basic mount for slightly less than 200,000 DIL, but the price will increase with each mount you buy from him, and you will only receive one of the slowest Tier 1 mounts (with a very small chance of receiving a slightly faster Tier 2).
Evolving Mounts
If you are keen on obtaining faster mounts which give you better stats, you can find them in various places. But you can also evolve some of your lower-level mounts. Sergio only offers mounts of tier 1 or 2, but mounts can go all the way to tier 6, which results in some very fast speeds and high stat bonuses.
You will need Swift Crystals to evolve your mounts. Swift Crystals are the result of crystallizing your mounts, under the Crystallization tab on the Vehicle Management screen (Shift-J). Place the mounts you don’t want into the empty boxes and press the Crystallization button. The mounts will be consumed, and you will receive a number of Swift Crystals, depending on the tier of the Crystallized mounts.
Once you have enough Swift Crystals to evolve a mount (the number needed will be given on the mount’s item information), open Mount Management and select the Evolution tab. Place the mount and Swift Crystals into this screen, and press the Evolution button, to receive an upgraded version of the mount. Some mounts cannot be evolved. Mounts which list their tier, and have a tier below 6, can usually be evolved to a maximum of 6.
